Thanks for agreeing to be our guest.
Balderdash Academy is a comedy interview and game show set at a fictional private school. Think Hogwarts but for comedy. The show may be set at a fake school where we call you our Visiting Professor, however, this theme is only a gimmick. We are all playing ourselves and will be playing for your points.
What you Need to do Before the Show
Fill out our short Visiting Professor Questionnaire above, if you haven’t already done so. We use it to build the show around your answers and ensures that we talk about and promote the work and causes that matter to you.
Prior to the night of the show make sure you download Zoom and find a quiet place to set up for the night. If you would like to schedule a test call before the show to work out kinks, contact Bob at faculty@balderdashacademy.com and he’ll set it up and work you through the process.
Download Zoom at https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting
We will be recording your audio through Zoom. If you would also like to record a clean copy of your audio the night of the show and are already familiar with the process, please do so and we'll use that in the final. If you are recording your audio and you are able to wear earbuds or headphones, please do. It will make the audio cleaner.
What you Need to do During the Show
All you need to do the night of the show is relax, have fun, and award any amount of points you’d like to award to any member of the cast when prompted. You are the official point-giver. Our automated system will calculate the points you give. You can use any scoring system you like. Some of our past guests gave simple points, others created elaborate scoring systems. The choice is always up to you.
We will have a few small conversations about you and whatever you’d like to promote.
Show Breakdown
The show is broken down into three main parts during the taping with each segment lasting between 15 and 20 minutes. We close the night with a bonus game and some quick promos.
We will be performing the games during the segments for you. The audience at home will get the benefit of the games, but we’re playing for your score. Whichever faculty member ends the show with most points wins the coveted Reigning Champion Banner on their window for the next show.
Bonus Game
After the official show, we always play a closing game of Sex With Me, the improv staple. You are always invited to stick on and either watch or participate in this final close-out bonus game.
We invite our audience to submit prompts for us to riff on
Show Dates
The show will be released on Facebook Watch, Instagram TV, YouTube, and in podcasts. The exact release dates of your episodes will be emailed to you and you’ll be tagged on all social media posts.
If you have any questions Bob is here to help.
