Balderdash Academy's On the Air takes your guests through the wonderful world of vintage radio plays that never were with our groundbreaking immersive show. Our troupe of professional performers performs vintage-style radio comedies that take the listener back to the golden age of radio. Each 90 to 120-minute show features four to five vintage-style radio plays, lovingly written by our award-winning professional playwrights. Each immersive performance features full audio using a mix of recorded soundscapes and live Foley effects.

Immersive Fun
In On the Air! we turn your venue into the Dasher Radio Studio and whisk your audience into the 1930s golden age of radio. Your guests get to meet the performers in character before the show, see the behind-the-scenes fun, and experience an original live radio performance produced and performed by seasoned professionals. Once doors open your audience will be entertained by our cast. Through conversation, they can learn the history of the station, of the characters, and of the radio shows being performed. Each radio play within the show is lovingly written in a vintage style by our award-winning professional playwrights and each immersive performance features full audio using a mix of recorded soundscapes and live Foley effects.
Easy Set-Up
On the Air! requires no sets, no decor or costumes, and does not require the set for your current production to be dismantled. You can now bring in entertainment for your dark nights during the run of a featured show. On the Air requires minimal setup and can be performed on the apron or amongst an existing set. The show’s only requirement is room for our microphones and Foley table and, if possible, the ability for us to display our mock show posters to help heighten the immersion.
