Bonus: Catharsis – The January 6, 2021 Taping
If you've followed Balderdash Academy you may know that we tape on Wednesdays. It's a day of the week that has been a magnet for historic events in the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. One such date was January 6, 2021–the day the United States Capitol was stormed by seditionists.
This historic insurrection impacted each of us in different ways. We chose to deal with the shock and horror the way we always do and decided to continue with the taping. What resulted was a strange, manic night as we each came to grips with what the event meant for our nation and our future.
We weren't sure if we would ever release this episode. This is our catharsis. We are distracted, raw, and all over the place. Our suggestions bordered from the juvenile to the bizarre. As the night progressed we got sillier and, in some cases, a little drunk. But what this all is, is real.
